  • Shopping

Zaragoza's shopping area par excellence goes from Residencial Paraiso in Sagasta to the Plaza de España.  All of the surrounding and transversal streets are also full of hustle and bustle.  Big and smaller stores coexist harmoniously in this area, and there are virtually all types of goods to look at.  The most exclusive shops are to be found on Francisco de Vitoria, San Ignacio de Loyola, and the streets that cross them.  The bullring is a place to go on Sunday as it's a venue for the traditional flea market.  Zaragoza's craft and other souvenirs can be browsed and shopped at Anticuarios de la Plaza de San Bruno where abundance of home-made delicacies await your arrival, or you may go to the Mercadillo La Romareda behind the La Romareda Football Stadium which is the largest open-air market in Zaragoza.  For food and fresh produce, your best bet are at Mercado Central and Lanuza Market.  Corte Inglés which is a Spanish mall chain also has its Zaragoza branch located next to Plaza de Paraíso Centro Comercial Gran Casa presents a one-stop super mall where you can find everything in one place including shops, restaurants, bowling alley and cinemas.

  • Dining

Zaragoza's strong legions of university students make this metropolitan burgeoning with places to eat which suit every budget.  Ciudad Universitaria is always a good district to go hunt for a meal any time of the day.  The areas around the city's plazas such as Plaza del Pilar, Plaza de Paraíso, Plaza España, Plaza de Santa Cruz and Plaza San Francisco also teem with numerous restaurants, stylish cafés and tapas bars.  The food scene in Zaragoza is diversified by international cuisines from Italy, Japan, French, Mexican and many more, but it's recommended to try the renowned local Aragonese cuisine at one of the traditional restaurants dotted throughout the city.

  • Nightlife

Passionate nightbirds can rest assured that there is no shortage of places to have fun in Zaragoza.  The young, student crowd get together in the centrally located Moncasi district while the more individualistic and alternative crowd head for the cheap and cheerful bars in the Magdalena district.  The famous La Republicana offers the less hectic, up-market surroundings favored by the more sophisticated clientele.  The Casco Viejo (old quarter) and the area around the Ciudad Universitaria are also full of bars and clubs to order some nightcaps and meet other people.  Another good area with a wide selection of bars is the Calle San Vicente de Paul which has been converted from a bustling Jewish district into a salubrious nightlife avenue.
