  • Lunes Santo

    Easter processions in Zaragoza are spectacular to observe as members of each religious fraternity dress up in different colors and present different symbols.  Some of the processions take place simultaneously on different parts of the city.  There are also other artistic events worth checking out at different venues throughout the Easter week.

     
  • Fiesta de la Virgen del Pilar

    One of Zaragoza's main annual party is the Virgin of Pilar celebrations which come around every October 12th.  The official opening ceremony is held at Plaza del Pilar where the colorful parade march to and carry on with party, concerts, dances and shows.  There are also religious processions and mass as well as splendid fireworks to honor the Virgin.  

     
  • Fiesta del bario Delicias

    A week in the middle of September is reserved for the Fiesta del bario Delicias which is celebrated with street parties, concerts and other communal events in the blue collar neighborhood of Delicias.  An excellent fireworks are displayed to mark the end of these festive celebrations.

     
  • Día de El Rocío

    Forty days after Easter Sunday is the date for Día de El Rocío.  On the actual date which varies from year to year, a procession takes off from the Casa de Andalucia and parade to La Bombarda Church where a mass is celebrated in honor of the Virgin.  
  • Vuelta a España

    The Vuelta a España which is usually held in September is one of the most important international cycling event after the Giro of Italy and the Tour de France.  The Zaragozans habitually follow its itinerary until the last day when the leading cyclists race to the finish line on the Paseo de la Independencia or next to the football ground.
